This is classic. Here’s Graham Barker’s Navel lint collection. And what I found for some reason typically Australian was his Bakery Bags collection. “…from Bakeries I particularly enjoyed…”, Classic! Can you believe he was on Jay Leno in the states being interviewed about his Naval fluff collection?!

I was warned… “mate, the people are different up there”. But I’m only moving 6 hours north, how different could ‘they’ be?
So far they’ve been nothing but bloody awesome. Sure there are some different rules. Like, we need to have our cars checked for Queensland standards. Which is really quite bizzare considering once they have undertaken some god awful stringent over the pits type of fine tooth comb inspection, you’re free to let rust to within a inch of it’s life!

I dunno about you guys but when I think of typical ‘Australiana’ I think of the icons or inventions that we seem to be associated with worldwide. Thongs, Hills Hoist, Vegemite, early Holdens, Bondi beach. Fish and chips at the beach, to name but a small fractions of what I consider quintessential Aussie icons.

We lived near a town called Tarago. Well, we lived 40 minutes on a dirt road from the town. The town itself was home to about 100 people, about 100 dogs, a bowser, a shop and of course a pub. More about Tarago in another post sometime. The daily routine trip to school is the topic of the day.
